Psalm 62

A Calm Resolve to Wait for the Salvation of God

To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

¹ Truly my soul silently waits for God;

From Him comes my salvation.

² He only is my rock and my salvation;

He is my defense;

I shall not be greatly moved.

³ How long will you attack a man?

You shall be slain, all of you,

Like a leaning wall and a tottering fence.

⁴ They only consult to cast him down from his high position;

They delight in lies;

They bless with their mouth,

But they curse inwardly.

My soul waits on God for His salvation. Salvation is the deliverance from sin ONLY found in the cross of Jesus. If the cross of Jesus is not alone the reason you think your going to heaven you are not going to. God made all glory and honor for the work of Salvation the work of Jesus and Himself. David is betting all on God and I am betting all my chips on Jesus for my hope from sin.

God is a rock or a solid place to go for hope

God is a defense as he protects me from the world and Hell. The devil has to ask God and have his permission to touch me.Selah

⁵ My soul, wait silently for God alone,

For my expectation is from Him.

⁶ He only is my rock and my salvation;

He is my defense;

I shall not be moved.

⁷ In God is my salvation and my glory;

The rock of my strength,

And my refuge, is in God.

I am trusting alone in God and not in the world or others or even in me. What am I giving to trust? I give the Lord everything and anything to help me. I trust God to defend me and I trust him and only trust him for my hope and love and everything. Note God is my defense and I am not going to move without God. God is where I go when I am in troble or when it is good because he is where I dwell.

⁸ Trust in Him at all times, you people;

Pour out your heart before Him;

God is a refuge for us.

⁹ Surely men of low degree are a vapor,

Men of high degree are a lie;

If they are weighed on the scales,

They are altogether lighter than vapor.

¹⁰ Do not trust in oppression,

Nor vainly hope in robbery;

If riches increase,

Do not set your heart on them.

What does a man have? They do not have anything to trust or to take a rest in. The best person in the world is going to let you down I know they will. If you place your hope or trust in a person is folly and foolish because they let you down. Man is a self centered thing. Jesus is one that has never going to fail you. Man is always fabble and you trust them they are going to let you down evert time

¹¹ God has spoken once,

Twice I have heard this:

That power belongs to God.

¹² Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy;

For You render to each one according to his work.¹

God is the only thing that one ought to trust. He has spoken and God is the one with any power to help you with life. God is the only who gives mercy to you. Man is not going to give any mercy but will remember all your sins and faults. God forgave them on the cross of Jesus.
